The Disability Adult Allowance (AAH) is paid monthly by the CAF or the MSA, at the end of the month, around the 5th of each month. The maximum amount has reached 1,041.59 euros per month since April 1, 2026, after a revaluation of 0.8%. Knowing the precise payment dates and the calculation mechanisms allows for better budget management without unpleasant surprises.
Quarterly declaration in ESAT: the new feature from October 2026
The articles on the AAH calendar detail the payment dates month by month but overlook a regulatory change that directly affects the amount actually received. Since October 1, 2026, AAH beneficiaries engaged in an activity in ESAT (Establishment and Service for Assistance through Work) must declare their income every three months via a quarterly resource declaration.
This obligation modifies the recalculation rhythm of the allowance. Before this date, the amount paid could remain stable for several months in a row. The quarterly declaration implies more frequent adjustments, both upward and downward, depending on the actual income earned in ESAT.
The CAF of Puy-de-Dôme reported in September 2026 a computer anomaly affecting certain AAH beneficiary files in ESAT: the appearance of unjustified overpayments and requests for erroneous declarations. A regularization has been announced. For those affected, no action was required during the resolution of the problem. Finding the AAH 2026 payment calendar with month-by-month dates remains useful to verify the consistency between expected transfers and amounts actually received.

AAH revaluation on April 1, 2026: mechanism and actual amount
The annual revaluation of the AAH occurs every April 1. It follows a rate set by decree, published a few days before it comes into effect. For 2026, decree no. 2026-229 of March 30, 2026, set this rate at 0.8%.
Specifically, the maximum amount increased from 1,033.32 euros to 1,041.59 euros, resulting in a gain of 8.27 euros per month for a single person without other resources. The annual resource ceiling is set at 12,499.08 euros (1,041.59 euros multiplied by 12).
This increase is applied automatically. No action is required from the CAF or the MSA. The first payment incorporating the revaluation corresponds to the payment for the month of April, transferred at the beginning of May.
Why the increase seems modest
The rate of 0.8% aims to partially compensate for inflation. Several associations have called for a monthly amount of 1,600 euros, but this proposal has not been voted on or decreed. The legal amount remains set at 1,041.59 euros until the next revaluation scheduled for April 1, 2027.
AAH payment dates 2026: the functioning of the 5th of the month
The AAH is paid at the end of the month. Therefore, the payment for January arrives at the beginning of February, that for February at the beginning of March, and so on. The reference date is the 5th of each month, but several factors can delay the actual credit to the bank account.
- When the 5th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday, the transfer is generally issued on the nearest business day, often the preceding Friday or the following Monday, depending on the CAF.
- The interbank delay adds one to two business days between the issuance of the transfer by the CAF and its appearance on the account statement.
- In April 2026, the payment was made on Tuesday, April 7, due to Easter Monday (April 6).
The payment follows the same schedule as other CAF benefits (family allowances, RSA, activity bonus). The MSA applies a similar calendar but not always identical to the exact day.
First payment after an application
The AAH is granted from the first day of the civil month following the submission of the file to the MDPH. The processing time by the MDPH, which can take several months depending on the departments, delays the first effective payment. Back payments are then made to cover the period between the date of allocation and the first transfer.

AAH payment delay: common causes and checks
An absent transfer on the 5th of the month does not necessarily indicate a problem with the file. Before contacting the CAF, several points deserve verification.
- The banking delay: some banks credit the account one to two days after the issuance of the transfer. A call to the bank can confirm whether the transfer order has been received.
- The quarterly resource declaration: an omission or delay in this declaration automatically suspends the payment until regularization.
- A change in family situation (birth, separation, relocation) not reported can lead to a recalculation and a temporary delay.
- Hospitalization or accommodation in an institution for more than 60 days modifies the amount paid, with a reduction applied from the following month.
In case of persistent doubt, the personal space on the CAF or MSA website displays the payment history and any messages related to the file.
Decoupling of the AAH: an achievement that impacts the calculation
Since October 2023, the income of the spouse is no longer taken into account in the calculation of the AAH. This reform, known as decoupling, has allowed thousands of beneficiaries in couples to receive the allowance at full rate when they were previously deprived of it or only received a reduced amount.
The resource ceiling now applies only to the personal income of the beneficiary. For a single person, this ceiling corresponds to the maximum annual amount of the AAH, which is 12,499.08 euros in 2026. This rule remains in effect for the 2026 calendar.
The next budgetary appointment for AAH beneficiaries is the revaluation on April 1, 2027, the rate of which will depend on the observed inflation and will be published by decree in March 2027. Until then, the monthly payments follow the usual rhythm of the 5th of each month, with a stable amount unless there is a change in individual circumstances.
